TALK ABOUT AN INTERNATIONAL PROBLEM

-What the problem is?

-Why it is international?

-How it is affecting different countries?

-How it can be resolved?

Well we are living in a globalized world where everything is happening at an international level and with no surprise, some of the problems today are also international and one of these is the global warming. We all are quite familiar with this pressing concern as it receives a lot of attention. The reason why this problem is global is that each and every country is focusing on industrialization for its economic growth. Poor countries that cannot invest themselves are inviting big companies of developed countries. As a result, the release of toxic gases from factories is polluting the environment. Similarly, society is becoming prosperous and people’s demands are growing. They want to own the comforts and luxuries and are bringing a huge loss to the nature (environment). Forests are being cut rapidly which is the major cause of increasing carbon in the environment. As per the scientists’ assumptions, in 2050 the global warming will lead to the end of life on this planet. Fortunately, governments of the world are (Ielts with Youtuber Ramandeep Singh) showing their concern towards this problem and international-meetings are being held in order to reduce the impact. I personally believe that every individual has to play a part for example, by reducing energy consumption, planting more trees, adopting 3R policy and others. Although, global warming is a serious challenge yet the collaborative efforts at global level can help the world escape it.

1. TALK ABOUT YOUR FAVORITE BEVERAGE

– What it is?

– How it is made?

– Why do you like it?

Well, a wide range of beverages are available these days, unfortunately most of these are not healthy and here I would like to talk about my favourite beverage which is not only extremely delicious but extremely nutritious as well and it is smoothie made of fresh fruits. Actually, few months ago, I was not feeling well and after consulting a doctor I was diagnosed with the deficiency of few essential (Ielts with Youtuber Ramandeep Singh) minerals and vitamins which was primarily due to the avoidance of fruits. The doctor recommended me to consume fresh fruits on daily basis which was not easy for me as I am not a fruit lover. Understanding the situation, my mother came up with a novel (unique) idea of preparing smoothie. She blended some fresh fruits like oranges, banana, strawberries, guava, kiwi, apples together and topped it with a scoop of my favourite ice-cream. The glass was looking extremely tempting and I finished it in not time. I never knew that blended fruits can be so delicious. From that day, it became my habit to have a glass of smoothie on regular basis. And within a month’s time, my body recovered and I started to feel fresh and energetic all the time. In fact, I highly recommend those who don’t like to eat raw (sliced) fruits or are in habit of consuming unhealthy fizzy drinks must try smoothies once for sure.

Spoken communication is more powerful than written communication. To, what extent you agree or disagree?

No doubt, communication in-between two persons can take place in various forms especially due to the advent of technology. It is often put forward that communication in writing is not as superior as the verbal communication. I too personally hold the same belief and the arguments surrounding my opinion shall be presented in the subsequent paragraphs.

To begin, the foremost argument in the favour of spoken communication is its effectiveness. Needless to say, when people interact face-to-face, the chances of miscommunication or misunderstanding are negligible. People can convey their message in a far elaborative way because in-person communication comprises eye-contact, gestures, body language and others which are missing in the case of written form. This is perhaps the reason why a vast majority gives preference to communicate verbally to better express their feelings and emotions.

Moreover, in today’s fast-paced world, spoken communication is the only viable option to deliver message in time. The fact is that these days everyone possess mobile phones that allow people to contact anyone globally to establish a contact. They can instantly hold a verbal communication to convey their message whereas, people find it much time consuming to send and read letters or e-mails. A recent survey by Oxford university reveals that with increased usage of mobile phones, the use of letters and e-mail has declined by 70% in last five years.

To conclude, I would like to restate, spoken communication is undoubtedly the most powerful mode of communication considering the minimal chances of misunderstanding and its practicability in modern times where written communication seems to be slow and ineffective.

Nowadays, young people spend their free time in shopping malls. Some people believe this could have a negative effect on young people and society. Do you agree or disagree?

No doubt, with time, people’s preferences are changing when it comes to spending their free time and it is not uncommon to see a vast majority choosing shopping malls for recreation. However, like many others I too believe that it is a negative development to a great extent and arguments supporting my viewpoints shall be presented in the subsequent paragraphs.

To begin, the foremost argument to support the idea of being at malls to spend free-time is to remain up-to- date with the latest trends. Needless to say, people these days want to be well informed about the latest products in fashion, and shopping complexes are one of the best sources to acquire the same. While strolling in malls they can see the various products on display, in fact, launch ceremonies of latest products such as mobile phones, watches, cars and other accessories are often hosted here, understandably, visitors not only get to know about the items in trend but can also pre-plan their shopping by frequently visiting the malls. In addition, today malls are more like entertainment complexes due to the availability of gaming parlours, cineplexes, bars, clubs and restaurants which attract youngsters the most. Since they find everything they want just under one roof, as a consequence, popularity of malls as a source of recreation is growing substantially.

However, I tend to believe this change brings more harm than good. Firstly, it is liable for making the society spend-thrift. Although people visit malls casually yet they end up spending unduly. The fact is that products are displayed in a very enticing manner that visitors could not resist themselves from buying them. At the same time, lucrative offers be it 50% off or buy 1 get 1 free, give birth to throw-away society. Moreover, this approach is not in the favour of physical and mental well-being of youngsters. They should rather take part in sports and other physical activities in their free time which could help them to stay away from life- style diseases like obesity, diabetes and lethargic attitude.  Understandably, visiting malls in leisure time is not a productive alternative.

To conclude, I would like to restate, even though modern society is getting obsessed with shopping complexes in terms of spending free time, it is not a positive development and must not be promoted.

Some people think that only certain type of historical buildings should be preserved rather than all. What type of structures you think should be preserved? Do the advantages out-weigh disadvantages?

No doubt, opinions vary widely when it comes to preserving historical monuments, as many favor the preservation of some specific structures, not all. The aim of this essay is to justify what type of building should be kept intact, along with the advantages that supersede disadvantages of maintaining old buildings as per my personal opinion.

To begin, the old structures that should be preserved are temples, architectural wonders and shrines rather than the castle and forts and the predominant benefit of this would be to let people remain connected to their past. Needless to say, temples and shrines have always been integral to the people to which they feel spiritually as well as emotionally connected. By visiting these monuments, they not only acquire religious knowledge but also related to their history and culture and frequent gatherings at such places promote the essence of community. For example, Golden temple in India is visited by millions each year, where visitors observe the past architecture, artefacts, traditions and others which help them to feel connected to the rich heritage.

Yet another advantage of focusing only on such historical structures is the growing concern of land scarcity. The fact is that the prime objective behind demolishing old structures is waste of land. Unlike temples and shrines, Forts and castles have no practical use in today’s time, which are generally constructed on a huge piece of land. Thus, it is reasonable to bulldoze such structures and replace with modern buildings, while keeping the former intact.

Lastly, maintaining past marvels can be a source of generating revenue for a nation, considering the interest people show to visit such amazing architectures. For instance, Taj Mahal, the seventh wonder is visited by 20 million tourist each year, which gives a huge boost to the economy of my country.

To conclude, I would like to restate, historical buildings have a significant importance and they should be protected, however, there is no harm in demolishing those which are of no public interest or practical use.

Talk About A Time When You Were Sad Cue Card

Well, life is full of joys and sorrows and I must say that there have been number of incidents or situations, when I felt really disappointed. One such disappointing experience I had around 2-3 years ago. When I tried to buy something online for the very first time. Actually, I was after a pair of sports shoes of Nike brand. (Ielts With Ramandeep Singh) One day, while checking Facebook, I came across the advertisement of a pair of shoes and it was exactly the same pair, I checked out at the store. Now, I got amazed, because the price tag on the advertisement was only Rs2000, and it was a limited time offer. I couldn’t afford to miss the opportunity. So without thinking much or without investigating much, I placed the order and I had to pay using my credit card and instantly the payment got deducted. Now I was waiting for the courier eagerly and after couple of days, I received it. I was over the moon, when I received it but I got extremely disappointed when I opened the box because it was entirely a different product. It was a fake product, it was not the original Nike Sports shoes. It was no where near as shown in the brochure or in the advertisement. (Ielts With Ramandeep Singh) Instantly, I tired to catch up with the company to replace or refund the amount that I had paid but the company denied, they said that they have no such policy of return or exchange. I was absolutely disappointed the way they dealt and they made fool of me but I had no one to blame because I didn’t probe enough. Now, I couldn’t do anything because this pair was totally useless for me and Infact it was no even my size, it was totally a different size. So, I ended up giving this pair of shoe to a beggar. Overall, I can say that this was a day when I was quite disappointed and sad.

Describe A Time You Decided To Wait For Something Cue Card

When it was?
What you had to buy?
Why you decided to wait?
How it benefited you?

Sample Answer

Well when it comes to buying something, people often get impatient, they want to buy the things instantly and I am not an exception but here I would love to share my experience when I rather decided to wait for something to buy and it was just few months ago when I had to replace my mobile phone. (Ielts With Ramandeep Singh)The fact is that my old device was troubling me a lot as I was not able to manage my calls or anything on the device because of its poor performance and I decided to replace it with a new handset. It was my dream to buy iPhone for a long time so I decided that this time I will surely by an iPhone, I visited the I-Store in my city where I checked out all the latest devices of this brand and with the help of the store person, (Ielts With Ramandeep Singh)I ended up selecting iPhone 13, the most stylish and feature loaded phone of this brand. Now, I came back home and shared my experience with my parents and I also arranged money to buy it the next day but later in the evening while watching television I came across the advertisement which was about the launch of about iPhone 14 that means the brand is going to launch a new phone very shortly with even better features. I instantly checked out the website of iPhone to explore the features of this device and I must say that I found few of the features especially the camera quality which was no where near any other phone in the market. (Ielts With Ramandeep Singh)In fact, I also got impressed with the unique style of this phone and this was the time when I decided that i will rather wait for the launch of the new handset because once the iPhone would be launched, the price of iPhone 13 will drop drastically and that’s the reason why I waited and I was among the first buyer’s to buy this latest mobile and I must say that I was very happy to carry one of the latest handset available in the market and it all happened just because I decided to wait for sometime.

Talk About A Person Who Grows Plant Cue Card

Who this person is?
How well you know him/her?
Why he/she grows plant?
What do you feel about him/her?

Sample Answer

Well, most people show their concern about the degrading environment but there are very few who actually do something to save the environment and I will take this opportunity to talk about one such person who is doing an outstanding job of planting trees.(Ielts With Ramandeep Singh) Mr. Singh is my neighbour and he is actually a Botanist by profession. Being a botanist he keeps profound knowledge about the different plants and their species. At the same time, he is very much concerned about the degrading environment. He understands that the way the problem of global warming is worsening the day is not too far that it would become extremely difficult to survive on this planet and the only solution to the problem is planting more and more trees this is perhaps the reason why approximately ten to fifteen years ago, he started planting trees and educating people about the same. Initially, people didn’t take him seriously but he didn’t stop. He continued to do so out of his own resources and when people actually realised his concern, people started to join him. (Ielts With Ramandeep Singh) Today, he is running an NGO by the name “Go Green” that has thousands of members and this NGO has planted more than one million trees and this is perhaps the reason Mr. Singh has been awarded by the state as well. He is more like an inspiration for everyone. Not only at public places even at his home he has a huge lawn, where he has planted hundreds of trees and exotic species of plants that cannot actually survive in the climatic conditions in my area but it is just his affection and love towards plants that they are flourishing. I must say that I have learnt a lot from Mr. Singh. (Ielts With Ramandeep Singh) This is perhaps the reason why I too try to plant trees whenever possible but I make sure that on my every birthday I plant a tree and take a good care of it. Overall, I can say that Mr. Singh is definitely one person that I know who grows plants and trees.

It is impossible to help all people in the work so government should only focus on people in their own countries. To what extent do you agree or disagree?Ielts Task 2/ Essay

Despite the economic growth at a global level, millions are struggling to make both ends meet and lead miserable life. But some people hold (Ielts with Youtuber Ramandeep Singh) the opinion countries should rather focus on their own countrymen as helping all is highly impractical. I am not completely convinced with the idea and the supporting arguments shall be discussed in this essay.

To begin, it seems reasonable for a county to consider the welfare of its own country people to win their faith. The fact cannot be denied citizens of every nation pay taxes to the state and in return they expect (Ielts with Youtuber Ramandeep Singh) the government make appropriate use of the funds and make their lives better by providing various amenities such as better roads, hospitals, transportation, pension and many more. However, when authorities just to cast their positive image as a helpful country donate (Ielts with Youtuber Ramandeep Singh) billions it can disappoint the citizens. For example, In India 40% population lives below the poverty line. But rather improving its condition government of India donates 5 billion dollars annually to poor African countries which puts a question mark on the efficient utilisation of public funds.

However, I tend to believe it is the moral responsibility of the governments to (Ielts with Youtuber Ramandeep Singh) lend a helping hand to other countries rather than being confined to their own country. It is quite unfortunate to see people dying of hunger and diseases in one part of the world while people enjoying lavish lifestyle on the other. Not only for the sake of humanity rich should share (Ielts with Youtuber Ramandeep Singh) their resources with poor but also to ensure world peace and harmony. The fact cannot be denied, citizens of poor country like Afghanistan, Sudan and Ethiopia are compelled to migrate illegally, join terrorist organisations or indulge in drug smuggling due to hunger and poverty. Understandably, the world can be made a better place to live by offering-assistance internationally.

To conclude, I would like to restate it is the prime responsibility of every country’s (Ielts with Youtuber Ramandeep Singh) regime to look after their citizens but country should also allocate a budget to help other countries to save the humanity.

Talk About A Person From A Different Culture That You Know Cue Card

Who this person is?
How & where you met?
What culture he belongs to?
And what you know about this person?

Well, it is not uncommon these days for people to make friends from different cultures and the credit goes to the globalisation and improved technology as there are no geographical boundaries today. I have made many friends who are from different cultures but one I would like to talk about here is Jason. Jason is an American and I found him on a chatting platform where one day I was trying to find an English speaking person to chat to and this is something I often do to improve my English ability. We become friends in no time. The fact is that, Jason is equally interested to travel to India. So, during this chat he asked me many things about India and the places to visit in India. Now, we have became good friends and we frequently chat and during this time or by chatting with Jason, I got to learn a lot about American culture. (Ielts With Ramandeep Singh)For example, I have learnt that he is only 18 and he is planning to travel to India alone because he has saved and earned money on his own for this trip which is quite surprising for me because in India children remain dependent on parents for quite long. Now, another thing that I got to know from him is that Americans are really workaholic and they are among the richest people of the world. In fact, if you check out the top richest people of the world, majority are from America. (Ielts With Ramandeep Singh) I am quite interested to visit this country when I learnt from him about the culture of different states, the weather of America and especially some of the worth seeing places there, such as Niagara falls and statue of Liberty. I must say that there are few things that I do not like about the American culture as well, as he said that people up there are materialistic. (Ielts With Ramandeep Singh) They give more importance to money rather than giving to family, friends or the society which is not in my country at all but I think that cultural diversity is what develop your curiosity to learn about different cultures and I am looking forward to seeing Jason in India where I will personally meet him to learn more about his country and culture.
